João "Bosco" Da Silva
João "Bosco" Da Silva joined the Housing & Residential Services (HRS) team in November 2022 as the House Operation Manager for Simmons Hall. Bosco takes pride in ensuring residents are living in a clean, welcoming residential space where they can thrive socially and academically. He takes particular enjoyment in engaging with students. Through his "open door policy" Bosco is always available to assist residents. He always enjoys working collaboratively with staff across the Division of Student Life, as well as other Simmons Hall House Team members, including the Heads of House, Associate Heads of House, Area Director and Graduate Resident Advisors.
Prior to HRS, Bosco served within the MIT Department of Facilities as Third Shift Supervisor of Custodial Services for close to five years. He also possesses previous professional experience working within various operations and management roles at Berklee College of Music and Bentley University.
House Operations Managers (HOMs) are assigned to each residence and are full-time staff members responsible for the operations and facilities of a residence. HOMs supervise building operations including the front desk, cleaning, and maintenance staff.
