Indigenous Living Community (ILC)

About
The ILC is a cultural living group intended to celebrate and center the unique cultural experiences and identities of all indigenous people! This living community is open to everyone who supports and is committed to this mission.
We welcome all who identify with the indigenous experience, have a complicated relationship with their own Indigenous identity, or are interested in celebrating the Indigenous community and reconnecting with their roots. We are all on our own journeys of self-discovery, and the ILC is a home where you can find community on that journey!
The ILC is also a great place to become more involved with the other Native American/Indigenous student organizations on campus, including the Native American & Indigenous Association (NAIA, the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES), and Globally Indigenous Students for Justice (IS4J)!
The ILC is currently located in a single 9-person suite located on Burton 5 (the fifth floor of the Burton side of the building). Our suite consists of only singles and doubles! Rooms will be assigned in a collaborative process to account for gender rooming preferences, living styles, class year, etc.
To live in the ILC, you must rank the ILC within your top 5 choices on the Housing Preferences Form. Then, we will meet with you and provide information about life in the ILC, and you must confirm your interest in the ILC by emailing residence@mit.edu. We look forward to adding you as a new member of our community after that!
Dining Info
Like the rest of BC, it is a suite-style living experience, with its own common bathroom, kitchen, and living area. BC is a cook-for-yourself dorm, so the dining plan is optional. There is no established meal plan within the suite (i.e. communal groceries or cooking/cleaning schedule), but we occasionally (at random) cook and eat dinner together.
