David’s research focuses on design, manufacturing, and control techniques for power electronic systems and components and their use in a wide range of applications. He and his students in the Power Electronics Research Group work to advance the efficiency and performance of all kinds of electrical energy systems such as renewables and green energy. Kaito, their Portuguese water dog, has become a familiar sight to students who visit David’s office. Kaito has been known to attend classes (though he often falls asleep) and is a master at catching Frisbees in Killian Court.
