Cristian Medina
Cristian Medina earned a Ph.D. in geology and an M.S. in hydrogeology from the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Indiana University. He is originally from Chile, where he earned a geology degree from the University of Chile. After a 20 year-career in geology, he is now transitioning to become a high school physics teacher. He has developed geology workshops for Latino elementary and high school students, hosted Spanish speaking radio shows, and organized handmade book workshops, chess tournaments, community meditation sessions, and poetry readings. He is a founder member of Cardboard House Press (cardboardhousepress.org), a nonprofit organization devoted to the creation of spaces and media for cultural, artistic, and literary development. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, reading poetry, and spending time with his wife, Eden, and son, Gael.
