Requesting a Building Change through FYRE
First-year residents looking to change their building assignment after REX can participate in the optional FYRE process. If you’re happy with your current building assignment, no action is required.
This process only allows you to change your building if spaces are available. We cannot predict the availability of spaces through the FYRE process or the likelihood of a new building assignment.
Room assignments are finalized after the FYRE process is completed. Specific room type requests are managed by the houses and are not included in the FYRE process.
The FYRE process is binding. If you submit a FYRE request and successfully receive a new building assignment, you’ll be required to move to your new assignment on Move Day because your original assignment will have been allocated to another resident.
The FYRE process is an individual process, meaning that you cannot apply together with another resident or as part of a group. If you receive a new building assignment, any questions about your specific room assignment should be directed to the RAC for your new building.
Professional movers will be on-site to assist with FYRE building moves on Move Day.
